• Chemistry Technician

  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Chemistry Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports. You will provide analytical testing services for our clients and be responsible for analyzing raw materials using various chemical and instrumental techniques.


    • Performs independently with occasional supervision chemical and physical analysis on a full range of raw materials and/or finished products at a proficient level using laboratory instrumentation including assay and impurities/residual solvents testing procedures by HPLC and GC
    • Ability to perform method validations, method transfer and method verifications
      for HPLC and GC methods as per USP, EP and/or ICH guidelines, with minimum
    • Ability to write method validations, method transfer and method verification protocols and reports following USP, EP and ICH guidelines
    • Analyses raw materials and finished products using instrumentation and wet chemistry (as necessary) techniques according to established in-house and compendial regulatory requirements
    • Interprets and reports testing results, as required, and assists in investigations of OOS generated results in the lab
    • Performs general maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
    • Troubleshoots instrumentation problems and provides guidance and training to analysts
    • Maintains compliance to all health and safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and regulatory requirements
    • Performs additional related duties as assigned as well as working on evenings or week-ends as required

    Skills / Qualifications

    • University degree (B.Sc.) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
    • Minimum five years experience in a pharmaceutical (preferable) laboratory
    • Able to operate a variety of laboratory instruments such as AA, HPLC or GC
    • Detail oriented, accuracy in work essential
    • Good written and verbal English communication skills
    • Self-starter and resourceful
    • Proficient with computer programs such as Word, and Excel
