  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an HPLC Development Chemist. The individual must possess expert knowledge of modern analytical techniques and instrumentation, complete projects as per determined timelines, projects must be performed according to GMP guidelines, and prepare or participate in the preparation of the quotation based on the customer’s technical packages.

    Responsibilities

    • Management of analytical projects for routine and non-routine testing. Non-routine testing may include method development, method validation, investigation and troubleshooting as per customer’s requests
    • Communication with the customers for initial response to their testing requests, quote preparation, design and performance of the requested testing and follow up to discuss the acquired data and prepared report for testing
    • Provide technical knowledge and expertise in the area of analytical chemistry
    • Promote and maintain Good Laboratory Practices
    • Review, evaluate and interpret analytical data ensuring that all work is done in accordance with applicable SOPs, protocols, methods and specifications
    • Prepare Certificates of Analysis, Reports of Analysis and Method development and Method validation Reports
    • Initiate change controls to generate or update testing procedures

    Skills / Qualifications

    • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in chemistry or related field
    • Minimum five years’ experience in analytical chemistry field
    • Good theoretical knowledge of analytical chemistry and ability to quickly gain experience in the laboratory analysis.
    • Good working knowledge of current cGMP, compendia, Exova general SOPS and product specific
    • SOPs related to the analysis of the pharmaceuticals
    • Proven problem solving abilities in analytical chemistry and method development
    • Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements for a chemical laboratory
    • Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet client deadlines; this may include weekend and evening shifts outside of normal business hours

    NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
