  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an ICP Analyst to join the team in Deeside.

     

    As an ICP Analyst your duties will include the preparation and analysis of a variety of sample matrices using ICP-OES and ICP-MS techniques in accordance with company methods, ensuring that all quality standards required by an ISO17025 accredited laboratory are maintained.

    Responsibilities

    • Preparing standards for calibration and quality purposes
    • Conducting sample preparation and analysis in accordance with company methods and quality procedures
    • Accurate reporting of results using LIMs.
    • Ensuring all analytical procedures comply with accreditation quality standards
    • Ensuring adherence to good laboratory practice and housekeeping at all times
    • Instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting
    • Maintenance of training records
    • Prioritising workloads to ensure work is completed within required turnaround time.
    • Ensuring a continual supply of lab consumables by monitoring stock levels and placing orders
    • Supporting Senior Analytical Staff in the development, modification and validation of methods
    • Following health and safety procedures

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree qualification in Chemistry or a Chemistry related subject
    • A ‘levels in Chemistry or other science/maths subjects
    • Experience as an ICP Analyst within a commercial analytical laboratory
    • Alternative qualifications will be considered depending on relevant equivalent experience
    • A highly motivated and organised individual
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines 
    • Ideally ability to work within and take overall accountability of a small team including day to day organisation and supervision
