  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our growing team. Our company is responsible for testing the materials used in the most critical aerospace applications. We need a detailed, accomplished individual with a great personality to work with this dynamic team. 

    Responsibilities

     

    • Develop, establish, and maintain QMS documents (policies, procedures, and forms) including but not limited to also managing the quality system intranet site
    • Lead Root Cause / Corrective Action teams comprised of technicians, supervisors and managers.
    • Provide training to employees on quality related topics
    • Perform quality system and process audits including but not limited to ISO 17025 and Nadcap MTL
    • Review technical documents e.g. test standards, specifications, drawings, etc. and facilitate implementation
    • Maintain and expand industry and client approvals
    • Manage customers’ audits of the laboratory and its practices
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills / Qualifications

     

    • Non-metallics or composites testing or manufacturing background preferred
    • ISO 17025 and Nadcap experience preferred
    • Bachelor of Science required from an accredited four-year institution 
    • 3 -5 years of quality management experience within the aerospace industry
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
    • Work independently and effectively with little supervision
    • Able to prioritize work and keep key stakeholders informed of progress
    • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
    • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
    • Well developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
    • Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect

     

    This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
