• Test Laboratory Technician, Vibration

  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Vibration Test Technician. The primary function of the VibrationTest Technician is to simulate real world vibration on a variety of products intended for the Aerospace, automotive, medical, and other industries. Many of the components are operating during vibration testing (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) and the technician will assist with setup and data acquisition. This position reports to the Climatic/Dynamic Department Manager.


    • Interpret and understand customer’s specifications and properly follow laboratory procedures and test specifications
    • Set up and perform vibration tests in accordance with applicable industry standards
    • Assist with test unit operational requirements and fixture adaptation
      Prepares test documents such as logs, checklists, data files, and photographs
    • Document all phases of test and assist in preparing test report
    • Troubleshoot test set ups when necessary
    • Interfaces and collaborates with external and internal customers
    • Assist in quality audits, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Associate degree, ,Military Training, or 1 to 5 years experience in a testing laboratory
    • Experience in the use of a broad variety of test equipment including VOM, thermocouples, strain gauges, labview, etc.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Experience with electrical circuitry and schematics
    • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with accelerometers, data acquisition, VR software, ED shakers, Hydraulic shakers is preferred
    • Experience in the use of a broad variety of test equipment including VOM, thermocouples, strain gauges, labview, is also preferred
