  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Project Manager.  The Project Manager will effectively manage from planning to delivery the project assigned. Part of the effective management of the project will involve compliance with Magnox CONSI’s, Health and Safety (H&S) legislation, H&S guidance, company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

    Responsibilities

    • Brief employees daily on works, safety messages, company messages, quality issues
    • Regular communication with Magnox Site Engineer to ensure works are planned in correctly with effective daily utilisation of site personnel to cover workload and are fully briefed with the correct documentation in place prior to commencing work on a daily basis (Scope, RAMS, Contigency Arrangements etc)
    • Attend site walkdowns and pre-start meetings
    • Ensure completion of work in a timely manner, in accordance with KPI’s where applicable while managing client expectations on project delivery & Elocate update
    • Advise Site Manager & client on asbestos issues, high risk discoveries and any urgent remediation that comes to light during their projects
    • Management of employee morale, appraisals, PDP’s, revises, discipline and staff issues, staff absence (complete absence reporting and Return to Work Interviews) and recruitment
    • Daily supervision of staff working on their Project to ensure all round compliance with Project RAMS, Magnox, H&S and company SOP’s etc
    • Assist the Business Development team in the completion of Tender documents and any new business opportunities
    • Carrying out all aspects of asbestos survey types and air monitoring as required to meet client requirements
    • Ensure acuate Scope of Work are written for works and staff are briefed accordingly prior to undertaking works ensuring that all significant hazards are identified, assessed AFARP and that the necessary controls are implemented to remove, reduce and control the risks to ALARP
    • Ensure equipment & PPE checks are completed (survey & air monitoring kits, ladders, harnesses etc)  and that employees have appropriate PPE

    • Ensure equipment calibrations, servicing & PAT testing are completed as required

    • Ensure surey re-checks, lab audits, vertical audits are completed as required

    • Timely provision of quotes and preparation of accurate Scopes of Work and RA’s
      Be familiar with CEMAR for financial management of TO’s and Project KPI’s
    • Complete timesheets for payment applications and invoicing of completed work

    • Deputising for the Site Manager where required

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience managing successful projects
    • Asbestos related qualifications including P402, P403, P404 & P405 
    • W-504 & CoCA / CCP (Asbestos) qualifications desirable
    • Relevant H&S Qualifications – IOSH Managing Safely or CITB ‘Construction Site Mangers Safety Certificate or equivalent
    • Proven experience in carrying out industrial asbestos surveys and air monitoring to compnay SOP’s and UKAS standards
    • Experience of working in an environmental role that uses a clear project methodology
    • Punctual, strong leader and able to motivate a team to get the task done
    • Knowledge of NEC contracts
    • Knowledge and understanding of MAGNOX CONSI’s
    • Knowledge of the MAGNOX Contingency Plans
    • Hardworking, self-motivated team player ready to lead by example
    • Good attention to detail 
    • Initiative to work unsupervised with strong problem solving ability
    • Strong commercial awareness
    • Good sense of fairness, compassion and ability to be firm and a disciplinarian when required
