  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an Asbestos Analyst for UAE 

    Reporting to the Asbestos Lab Supervisor the prime responsibility for this position is to undertake asbestos identification analysis. It is envisaged that the candidate will be experienced in asbestos analysis and surveying

    Responsibilities

    • Performing routine / bulk analysis of asbesto samples

    • Assisting in production of bulk analysis certificates

    • Ensuring high standards of quality at all times

    • Self manage the QC checks , sampling quantity all the while ensuring compliance with the documented in house procedures

    • Ensuring HSE standards at all levels of operation

    • Demonstrating at all times a professional approach to businesOnsite testing execution will be essential as will the development and training of junior staff

    • Report preparation

    • Maintenance of Health and Safety and Quality standards within a UKAS accredited 17025 quality management system

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Proven technical experience with microscopy
    • Minimum 2 year lab experience
    • An internationally recognized qualification in asbestos analysis, air monitoring or management would be highly desirable but not essential
    • Ideally educated to degree level in science based subject
    • Strong and determined quality focus with indefatigable determination to get the job done under the most challenging conditions
    • Self motivated team player with excellent organisational and communication skills
    • An awareness, understanding and acceptance of the lifestyle benefits and /or constraints associated with being based in the middle east
    • Ready to reside in Fujairah , UAE on single status
    • Must be impeccably fluent in both oral and written English
    • Bilingual English / Arabic would be considered highly advantageous
