  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Business Development Manager responsible for named accounts within a specific geographic area. In this role you will be responsible for pursuing sales opportunities to sell the full breadth of Element services within specified accounts in order to meet their assigned budget. You will support strategic or key accounts within your specified territory with any activities needed at local sites.

    Responsibilities

    • To represent the company at client meetings
    • Up-sell the company’s services and products to ensure the achievement of targets (new accounts), meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and overall business objectives
    • To draw to the attention of the Directors and Managers opportunities for new schemes or 2nd party auditing
    • Utilise the technical competency within the Business units to support these client meetings
    • To ensure that the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system and any other systems utilised by the business are maintained with up to date information, including new business opportunities
    • Input to the Leadership Team on reporting, forecasting, planning and market intelligence plus new business initiatives
    • To work closely with the Business Unit Heads to ensure that product line profitability is achieved and capacity is filled
    • Provide marketing information to the management team on competitor’s activity and new business opportunities
    • Support the marketing team in various marketing campaigns, exhibitions and promotional events
    • Representing the company before clients and on public platforms where required

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Due to the technical nature of the role, we require someone with experience of working with CE marking and technical, standard led compliance or product certification schemes

    • Demonstrable ability to understand International testing and certification standards

    • Strong sales and closing skills

    • Open and effective communicator enabling the development of strong working relationships at all levels, both with colleagues and clients

    • Capable of engaging customers at senior / exec level

    • Sector or industry experience highly desirable, but being an industry specialist not essential

    • Strong, positive and proven sales ability

    • Good presentation skills

    • Good level of written, verbal, and numeracy skills – with a strong attention to detail

    • Able to multi-task in a fast paced, complex environment with effective planning and time management skills

    • Desire to develop a strong technical understanding and continue to learn and develop

    • Ability to understand and then communicate the technical competence of the business's proposition which will be supported by technical experts in the business
