  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Microbiologist whose primary responsibility is to support laboratory operations by conducting the relevant microbiological testing.

     

    The Microbiologist is responsible for development, validation, verification of sterility cycles, and testing to determine sterility, microbial limits, endotoxin, and preservative effectiveness and other microbiological assays. This role is also involved in technology transfers, stability testing, applications of parenteral technologies and environmental monitoring. All work is performed under FDA cGMP regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, validate and perform microbiological and sterility tests on a wide variety of products
    • Participate in aseptic production of small batch parenteral, ophthalmic and transdermal products
    • Draft test methods and report results in accordance with company policies
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BS/MS in Microbiology or Medical Technology
    • 2 to 5 years hands-on experience in performing microbiology in a cGMP environment
    • Comprehensive understanding of the USP chapters related to pharmaceutical microbiology
    • Knowledge of clean room operations
    • Experience in working the pharma CRO industry
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
