• Cash Application Specialist

  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an Cash Application Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for the primary support of cash application.  This position will be a critical in the posting of all incoming checks / ACH / remote deposits / wires to the appropriate customer accounts for all labs assigned.  This will include the investigation and resolution of all incoming monies, obtaining remit advices from the global remit sites, and pulling down previous day  banking activity from the cash pro sites.



    • Perform and update bank reconciliations
    • Analyze and advise on daily cash reports
    • Perform and reconcile Intercompany payments and transactions
    • Research and code items into general ledger
    • Respond to general inquiries as requested by USA, Mexico and Canada labs
    • Complete data entry function, which includes cash application, adjustments and write offs
    • Ensure effective and accurate processing of cash application function
    • Maintain timely cash entry as per department goals
    • Support corporate accounting function as journal entry processing and bank reconciliation duties
    • Recommend and implement opportunities for process improvements
    • Analyze daily bank transactions and generate accuracy Excel reports for internal use
    • Liaise between Collectors, Lab personnel and bank personnel
    • Assist in audit reviews
    • Respond to cash posting related inquiries as requested by Collectors and Lab personnel
    • Ensure that month end cut-off goals/timelines are met

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Completion of post-secondary education in an accounting field, or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel
    • Previous experience using a major ERP system
    • Proficiency with Navision an asset
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
