  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Senior Metallurgist whose primary responsibility is to support the Metallurgy Lab Manager in running day to day laboratory affairs along with site and field testing.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervision, conducting, and reporting of failure analyses
    • Presentation of technical work in different platforms, both written and oral in a confident manner
    • Exhibit pragmatic and innovative thought process with respect to both conduct of the investigation and providing solutions for the client
    • Review technical documents to construct suitable scopes of work
    • Estimate the work effort required and help in the commercial breakdown of the work
    • Capable of or experienced in Expert Witness Testimony

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Metallurgy or related discipline
    • Minimum 5 years combined experience working in a laboratory in the fields of metallurgical analysis, mechanical testing, and/or failure analysis
    • Experience with a variety of metallurgical test methods, including SEM/EDS, chemical analysis, mechanical testing, and microstructure evaluation
    • Excellent technical report writing skills
