  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Liquid Penetrant Level I Technician that will be qualified to properly perform specific calibrations, specific tests and to record results in accordance with specific approved procedures. A Level I Technician shall be knowledgeable of preparation of parts before and after inspection along with having the ability to follow procedures in the technique/method for which certified. In this role the Level I Technician will be responsible for providing reliable results while paying close attention to safety and project timelines.


    • Perform test process checks
    • Prepares parts for test, sets up and adjusts test equipment, process parts and interpret results and record test data and results
    • Maintains related test equipment, tools, in good working condition
    • Works flexible hours and overtime when required
    • Completes data sheets/work orders using prescribed technology
    • Provides excellent customer service
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Must be able to obtain Level II certification at company's expense
    • 1 to 2 years of Liquid Penetrant experience
    • Additional knowledge, skills, abilities, qualifications, and licenses
    • Knowledge, skills, and abilities
    • Experience with liquid penetrant processes
    • Penetrant Level I per NAS 410
    • Experience testing some combination of: Welds, castings, steel, titanium and aluminum
    • Experience using industry specs such as: ASTM E1417, Boeing, GE, Honeywell and Pratt
    • Ability to organize and document NDT results
    • Familiar with testing codes and standards
    • Must be able to read and write English
