  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an HVAC / Refrigeration / Facilities Technician to join the fastest growing company in the Testing, Inspection, & Certification (TIC) industry.

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively communicate test details, concerns, and timing with multiple persons
    • Work closely with other technicians
    • Install or service refrigeration systems
    • Mechanical repairs to equipment
    • Mechanical repairs to facility
    • Plumbing repairs for equipment
    • Plumbing repairs for facility
    • Handling and recovering hazardous refrigerant substances, and checking systems and equipment for leaks. Technicians will often use system blueprints or electrical schematics to make repairs, but may also need to troubleshoot systems that have been modified or do not have electrical schematics.  Must possess ability to use, or learn to use, various process controllers (e.g., environmental chamber controllers)
    • Additional duties might include mechanical repairs of environmental chambers, connecting refrigeration lines, cooling water, or electrical power sources, handling and recovering hazardous refrigerant substances, and checking systems and equipment for leaks. Technicians will often use system blueprints or electrical schematics to make repairs, but may also need to troubleshoot systems that have been modified or do not have electrical schematics. 
    • Must possess ability to use, or learn to use, various process controllers (e.g., environmental chamber controllers)

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Great attitutde and work ethic
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to work with little supervision
    • Must possess good mechanical inclination and ability to demonstrate hands-on experience and be detail oriented
    • General use of hand tools, rulers, torch (sweating pipe), DMM, and power tools (drills, saws, etc.) as required
    • Email and purchase ordering software experience
    • Experience with Word / Excel
    • Must have HVAC License, EPA 608/609 Certificate, High School Diploma
    • Effective communication
