Overview

Element is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across key accounts within a defined territory. You will be responsible for expanding existing relationships, re-engaging dormant customers, and securing new business by promoting the full range of Element's testing and materials services.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
  • Increase market share through strategic account management and customer engagement.
  • Deliver presentations, negotiate contracts, and secure profitable business.
  • Collaborate with technical and sales teams to maximise opportunities across the territory.
  • Utilise CRM systems to manage pipelines, track activity, and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Monitor market trends and customer requirements to identify future opportunities.
  • Represent Element at customer meetings, industry events, and professional associations.
  • Achieve sales targets through account acquisition, retention, and penetration.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Element's services and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years' technical experience combined with sales responsibilities.
  • Degree in Materials Science preferred; other relevant degrees will be considered.
  • Experience in testing, metallurgy, or composites would be advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret testing procedures and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to win new business and develop proposals, including cost estimates and commercial terms.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
