  • Overview

    FIRA International, part of Element, has an opportunity for a Trainee Service Technician. This position is field based in the South London area, with an initial and ongoing requirement to attend our Stevenage site for training.

     

    You will be provided with:-

    • A full training program tailored to your training requirements, including technician shadowing, attending our Stevenage site, manufacturer visits etc.

    Responsibilities

    • To inspect and repair as necessary furniture items in customer’s homes
    • To build customers flat pack furniture
    • To produce written reports for use by FIRA International clients
    • To manage customer expectations and provide product maintenance advice
    • Liaise with clients to resolve any technical issues which may arise
    • Undertake other reasonable activities as required which may include travel within the UK

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Strong organisation skills
    • Experience in domestic furniture production (upholstery/cabinet) or repair is preferred
    • Experience of carrying out customer home visits in industries such as: -
    • Furniture / kitchen (build / installation)
    • Carpet / upholstery cleaning
    • Furniture maintenance etc
    • Report writing skills are preferred
    • Proactive and methodical work approach
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work under to tight deadlines and use own initiative
    • Customer focused and with good problem solving skills
    • Ability to work on own with minimal supervision once fully trained
    • An aptitude for DIY
    • Full driving licence is essential for this position
