Overview

Element has a current opening for an Intern to join our growing team in Ann Arbor MI. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Analytical Chemistry Intern to join our collaborative team supporting both Research & Development (R&D) and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) projects. This internship is designed for individuals eager to learn laboratory techniques, regulatory practices, and analytical testing in a fast-paced environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced scientists and contributing to meaningful projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing analytical testing to support R&D and CGMP projects under guidance.
  • Learn and apply Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documentation standards.
  • Support ongoing projects and gain exposure to project workflows and timelines.
  • Participate in investigations involving deviations and Out of Specification (OOS) results to understand root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to support problem-solving and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with routine laboratory testing and data recording.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Interest in analytical chemistry and regulated laboratory environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, CRO, CDMO).
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis) through coursework or lab experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn structured procedures.
  • Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
