A Dynamics Senior Test Technician is a specialized role focused on the physical stressors a product undergoes during its lifecycle. In industries like aerospace, automotive, and defense, "dynamics" refers specifically to vibration, shock, and structural integrity. As a senior-level technician, you aren't just running a machine; you are the bridge between engineering theory and physical reality, often leading a team and ensuring complex test setups are executed flawlessly.
Salary: $25- $35/hr DOE
Vibration & Shock Testing: Operating electrodynamic shakers and shock towers to simulate launch, flight, or road conditions. You will execute programs like Sine, Random, and Sine-on-Random vibration profiles.
Instrumentation & DAQ: Selecting and installing various sensors (accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, and load cells). You are responsible for the "health" of the data, ensuring signal conditioning and Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems are calibrated and noise-free.
Test Fixture Design & Assembly: Working with engineers to design and assemble the "stiff" fixtures required to hold a Test Article (TA) on a shaker table. This often involves precision mechanical assembly and light fabrication (drilling, tapping, or milling).
Previous background of working in a dynamics lab for testing, 5-10+ years.
