Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Testing Intern. In this role, you will work with engineers and technicians to perform daily tasks related to metallic materials testing including sample preparation, test setup, testing, and reporting. This opportunity will give you invaluable on the job experience and exposure to the materials testing field.

 

Salary: $20- $23/hr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform Test sample preparation
  • Practice Test remnant management
  • Provide Testing supply replenishment for technicians
  • Potential to provide Materials Testing services to customers
  • Assist with standard work documentation
  • Assist with PFMEA investigation and countermeasure execution
  • Create and assist with 5S Projects

Skills / Qualifications

  • Working toward a Bachelor's or Associate degree in the field of Materials Science or related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and participate in testing within a laboratory setting

Physical Demands:

  • Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).
  • Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
