Element has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. The successful candidate will provide oversight within our Quality System primarily related to our Snubber Department work at our Huntsville, Alabama location including supporting off-site field services work at various power plant customers. Nuclear experience to 10CFR50 Appendix B, NQA-1 programs, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section XI Snubbers is preferred.
Salary: $50,000 - $70,000/yr DOE
Contribute to the delivery of Element's vision, strategy and objectives:
1. Set an example to all colleagues on the importance of quality and that it will not be compromised in any circumstances.
2. Ensure the Quality Management System is understood and followed by all as the primary Quality Representative working with our Snubber Department.
3. Ensure use of proper work instructions, quality procedures, and forms, providing coaching as necessary to maintain our Quality standards.
4. Be the primary point of contact for field services personnel and, when necessary, travel with those personnel to support customer contract requirements. This may include significant travel periods during spring and fall nuclear power plant outage seasons.
5. Promote a culture of quality and quality improvement in all parts of the business where you have influence.
6. Ensure quality control Hold points are completed as planned in accordance with procedures.
7. Provide backup to other Quality Assurance personnel as needed.
1. Knowledge and experience in the nuclear industry, particularly with safety-related components and quality systems
2. Ability to pass a nuclear field background check, as customer required
3. Three years plus experience preferred
4. Knowledge of ISO 17025 and ISO 19443 is a plus
5. Effective communication and collaboration
6. Self-motivated and ability to operate without direct supervision
7. Provide strong quality commitment and willingness to operate from a viewpoint of quality over schedule pressure
8. Proficiency in standard quality control tools: torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, light meters, and other typical Measuring and Test Equipment
9. Proficiency in computer skills primarily with standard Windows applications
