Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgist whose primary responsibility isto safely perform tests and report testing evaluations. Work is to be performed in accordance with established QA procedures.

 

Salary: $70K-$85K/yr

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate all equipment necessary to perform testing in the Metallurgical Lab
  • Performs daily verifications and adjusts equipment baselines accordingly
  • Performs standard and non standard metallurgical evaluations
  • Maintains testing equipment for operation and performs routine housekeeping tasks associated with the area(s) trouble shooting as necessary.
  • Insures that ample supplies are available for operation of testing area
  • As needed, interface with clients on matters of concern/interest
  • Other duties as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
  • Good knowledge on international standards and codes
  • Excellent report writing skill
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills

NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
