We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planning Engineer in our Dynamics Team to support laboratory testing operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting testing activities through the review of Statements of Work (SOWs), cut-up plans, and test requirements, while ensuring accurate execution and certification of test data. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically strong, and respected by peers, with a strong desire to learn and excel in the face of complex technical challenges.
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000/year (Depending on Experience)
Review and certify test data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements
Review Statements of Work (SOWs) and cut-up plans to plan, create, and schedule testing jobs
Determine and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols in coordination with laboratory staff
Communicate with customers to ensure specimens are tested at the correct conditions and per agreed requirements
Support on-time delivery of laboratory testing services and customer commitments
Manage job priorities and workload in accordance with targets and goals set by the supervisor
Work under the guidance of senior and advanced engineers on well-defined technical issues, including standard and routine tests
Lead and assign work to others when required to meet project and delivery needs
Provide technical input that impacts day-to-day laboratory planning decisions and customer support
Bachelor of Science degree in a science, engineering, or testing-related field
Minimum of 1 year of relevant post-degree engineering, laboratory, or planning experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications
Strong ability to interpret complex technical instructions and resolve planning or execution issues
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry (preferred)
Strong analytical and technical knowledge with demonstrated impact on laboratory planning and execution capabilities
Demonstrated ability to apply a range of testing techniques in a rational and practical manner
Well-developed oral and written communication skills for customer and internal coordination
Strong interpersonal skills that support respectful, effective communication across all levels
Ability to interface professionally with clients, vendors, and visitors
Ability to remain calm and organized when managing deadlines and multiple priorities
Self-starter who takes initiative and typically works without the need for significant supervision
Recognized by colleagues as possessing strong technical and planning expertise
Fast-paced laboratory environment with multiple concurrent testing projects
Primarily office- and lab-based planning role with regular interaction with engineering, laboratory, and customer-facing teams
Work on well-defined, standard, and routine testing activities with increasing responsibility over time
Occasional representation of the company with customers or at project-related meetings, requiring flexibility, professionalism, and maturity
