Element Materials Technologies is looking to recruit a Test Technician to perform routine/non-routine testing activities within our Exposure Gas Laboratories for non metallic materials.
This role requires the successful candidate to be responsible for performing a variety of testing tasks to ensure the accurate execution of test methods in accordance with relevant industry standards, as well as the correct collection, documentation, and reporting of test data for review and analysis by SNR Engineers.
• Preparing of material specimens for testing
• Operation of mechanical testing equipment to internal test methods or industry standards
• Performing of high temperature and high-pressure tests
• Gathering, recording and analyzing of test data
• Preparing technical reports
• At times operating under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
• Interacting periodically with customers
• Scheduling of internal calibration of equipment
• Construction and maintenance of various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision
• Engineering/ Physical Sciences Degree or equivalent industry experience
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety including ability to follow risk assessments and COSHH assessments
• Can compile and analyse testing data from the tests performed
• Basic understanding of testing concepts
• Possess computer skills (Word, Excel etc.)
• Report writing skills
• Ability and willingness to stand on feet for long periods of time and carry out physical tasks, including lifting
• Good observational skills, attention to detail and ability to work accurately and precisely
