Overview

Element Materials Technology Baltimore has an opportunity for a PCB Technician II to join our team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the PCB Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician position must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

 

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000/yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
• Review and understand customer specifications and / or statements of work to prepare samples and set-up testing
• Physical and Dimensional testing of Circuit Board samples, as outlined in specifications and/or statements of work
• Prepare Circuit Board (PCB) material specimens for testing
• Perform Microsection (Cross Section) evaluations as directed by customer specifications
• Operate under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
• Gather and record test data
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Skills / Qualifications

• Familiarity with IPC test methods and specifications, such as IPC-TM-650, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC 6012, etc.; Valid training certifications, as applicable, preferred, but not required
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• HS diploma or GED certificate required. College or vocational school coursework preferred
• Possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, laboratory software programs)
• Familiarity with measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, plug gages
• Basic understanding of chemical handling
• Basic understanding of cutting tools
• Proficient soldering skills desired
• Able to utilize binocular microscopes for inspection and measurements
• Technical writing skills preferred. Ability to inspect / analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed into a test report
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
