Overview

Element has an open opportunity for a Program Manager to join our growing team in Eagan MN, focusing on antimicrobial microbiological testing projects, who will work with new and assigned customer accounts. The Program Manager position is responsible for driving the success of client projects at Element Eagan. The Program Manager will maintain strong relationships with clients and serve as an advocate, trusted scientific advisor, and project manager. The Program Manager will also be a liaison to the client for both lab and study director communications as appropriate. They will maintain program management tracking tools, oversee strategic objectives and KPI targets, and effectively communicate the health of the program to numerous stakeholders. The Program Manager will assure that the results of the program meet business objectives and goals. The Program Manager will prepare quotes and receive protocol requests from the client. Specialized technical knowledge, sales experience, regulatory knowledge (FDA and EPA) and project management are necessary.

Ideal candidates will also be responsible for working on industry collaborative studies and custom methods, and training Element microbiology lab personnel to make sure new methods and processes are well understood and performed accurately

Responsibilities

  • Identify customer business and technical needs and develop scope and pricing proposals, needed samples, and delivery schedules.
  • Plan project delivery, schedule with appropriate lab and field resources and maintain customer communication on planned activities; lead in all matters to schedule, organize, inventory, and oversee testing projects - prepare and organize records, create and update project databases with scope, schedules, project tracking logins, deadlines, and outstanding action items; keep abreast of any changes to project timelines, deliverables, and scopes of work that impact schedules.
  • Focus on partnership and program management of strategic and key customers
  • Monitor project execution, budgets and, stakeholder coordination during the project life cycle; prepare quotations and invoices based on customer requirements and coordination with all testing department managers; schedule meetings and customer’s sample deliveries
  • Maintain customer communication and interaction to manage expectations and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate different groups involved: Operations and lab management, fellow Account and Business developments team members, finance
  • Maintain project records and invoicing data in designated systems
  • Where applicable, contribute to various industry working groups, conferences, and operator activities Gathering insights to updates, changes, and new requirements for testing. Represent the organization in appropriate committees and forums involving specific product categories
  • Assist technical and senior management to maximize the coordination of business objectives, strategies and associated policies and practices
  • Provide external leadership through presentations and technical articles and where applicable attend meetings with key customers and vendors
  • Continuously evaluate competitive activity, lab positioning, market entry, timing, and needed accreditation for maximum lab offerings
  • Maintain an awareness of the customers’ business environment and changing needs in order to support customer’s effectively and in a timely manner
  • Stay current with EPA and FDA Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (40 CFR Part 160 and 21 CFR Part 58) and ISO 17025 or other regulations as applicable
  • Proficiency with PC based software programs
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure, and training reports and programs

Skills / Qualifications

  • Microbiology bachelors degree preferred, or similar with demonstrated experience in handling antimicrobial and microbiology/viral testing projects
  • 5+ years in microbiological testing within EPA and/or FDA regulatory environments
  • 5+ years of customer focused program or project management roles
  • Special skills: organization and planning; ability to communicate and listen, both verbally and written; good interpersonal skills; ability to multitask; ability to work within a multicultural team
