Overview

We are looking to hire a project manager who is self-motivated, and excellent communicator and is well organized. This Project Manager will support the planning, execution, and successful completion of both transactional and more complex projects. This position will ensure alignment with Element's safety goals, and overall objectives while managing resources, schedules and budgets. This position will report to the program management department manager but will work closely with test engineers, lab department managers and the publications department.

 

Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00/yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Managing a large book of customer projects, as the primary contact and person responsible for the outcome of assigned projects.
  • Ensuring assigned projects are completed on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Supports the planning, execution, and successful completion of both transactional and more complex projects.
  • Management of all project data and documentation across multiple systems, including but not limited to financial and operating systems.
  • Management of test costs, project revenue tracking, and all project tasks and resources.
  • Ensuring all test procedures are up to date and available for the lab to use for testing
  • Managing the scope of work and putting costs back on customers for additional services.
  • Tracking COS that has been submitted to the customer and ensure we receive an updated PO in a timely manner.
  • Communication with customers and internal element team/stake holders.
  • Managing interdivisional projects with other Element facilities.
  • Self-supervision is required while managing a high volume of projects and implementing corrective actions.

  • Working towards or member status of a relevant professional body
  • Enough skills and knowledge to quicly gain procedure and report sign off status within the laboratory
  • A formal qualification in an appropriate scientific discipline at degree level or above would be held, preferably in Polymers
  • Familiar with a wide range of laboratory techniques from wet chemistry to FTIR, UV absorption, atomic absorption spectroscopy, NMR, XRF, gas/gas-liquid chromatography
  • Familiar with a wide range of polymer properties, thermal expansion, thermal conductivity
  • Familiar with a wide range of materials conversion techniques including injection moulding, extrusion, calendaring, blow moulding, cast and blow film.
  • Familiar with a wide range of physical test methods, including tensile, flexural, compression, torsion modes
