We’re looking for a Quoting Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you’ll prepare accurate, timely quotes that connect customers with our industry-leading testing and analytical services. Site Status: 100% On-Site

Pay Range: $32-$38/hr. (DOE)

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming customer inquiries, technical specifications, and sample request details to assess the appropriate scope of testing (e.g. microbiology, virology, environmental monitoring)

  • Translate customer requirements into comprehensive quoting requirements, identifying test methods, turnaround times, and any specialized protocols
  • Prepare, format, and deliver detailed proposals and quotes that align with Element’s pricing strategies, margin objectives, and lab capacity
  • Collaborate closely with sales, laboratory operations, scientists, and quality teams to validate test feasibility, resource constraints, and cost inputs
  • Maintain and periodically update the pricing database, quote templates, standard cost assumptions, and customer quote history
  • Ensure all quotes comply with internal policies, contractual terms, cGMP / ISO standards, and regulatory constraints
  • Monitor quote pipeline status—track open quotes, follow up with customers, and solicit internal input when needed
  • Flag issues such as scope gaps, non-standard requests, or risk factors, and escalate when necessary
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and optimizing quoting workflows, tools, and automation efforts to boost speed, accuracy, and consistency
  • Produce quote summary reports and metrics for leadership to monitor quoting performance, win rates, and operational bottlenecks
  • Partner with the sales team to understand customer needs, project timelines, and competitive positioning to ensure quotes are strategic and customer-focused

  • Support the sales process by providing clear, timely pricing data and helping refine proposals to strengthen customer value and win potential

  • Participate in sales calls or customer meetings when technical or pricing clarification is required

  • Collaborate with business development to identify opportunities for upselling complementary testing services or expanded project scopes

  • Track quote conversions and customer feedback to help improve pricing strategies and strengthen future proposals

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Element’s full testing portfolio to confidently communicate service offerings and capabilities to prospective clients

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to commute and work on-site
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quoting software (DCRM)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
