The UT Trainee will support certified NDT technicians in performing Ultrasonic Testing (UT) of materials, welds, and components to detect flaws, measure thickness, and ensure compliance with industry codes and client requirements. This is an entry-level training position intended to prepare the individual for certification as a UT Level I technician.
Salary: $20-22/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Additional $1/hour pay for shift working (working on 2nd shift from 1:00pm - 9:30pm)
Assist in set-up and calibration of ultrasonic equipment.
Prepare test materials, parts, or welds for inspection.
Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and industry codes (ASNT).
Perform UT scans under direct supervision of a certified Level II/III technician.
Record, organize, and report test results accurately.
Maintain inspection tools and ensure proper handling of equipment.
Follow all safety and quality control procedures.
Participate in classroom and on-the-job training to progress toward UT Level I certification.
