Overview

Element Materials Technology is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to support our Materials Testing operations in the MT East division. This role will drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships. Experience in Materials Testing within the Nuclear, Additive Manufacturing, or Defense sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Nuclear, Additive Manufacturing, or Defense markets to expand Element’s customer base.
  • Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
  • Market Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies that align with Element’s overall business objectives while supporting growth across the MT East division labs.
  • Quoting & Proposals: Collaborate with technical teams to prepare accurate, competitive quotes and proposals that meet client specifications and industry standards.
  • Cross-Selling: Promote Element’s full suite of materials testing services, identifying opportunities for cross-lab and cross-service growth.
  • Pipeline Management: Track, report, and manage sales activities through Element’s CRM to ensure consistent progress toward revenue targets.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent Element at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to increase visibility and credibility within target markets.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven track record in business development or sales, preferably in materials testing or adjacent technical fields (defense, nuclear, advanced manufacturing).
  • Strong understanding of destructive and non-destructive testing methods, standards, and applications.
  • Experience engaging with customers in regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, nuclear) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse industries and decision-making levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing to team success.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be a US citizen 
  • Must be able to travel
