Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Lab Lead. The Mechanical Lab Lead is a key member of the department's safety team and provides awareness around safety first. You will be relied upon heavily by other colleagues such as technicians, peers, Department Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager and other positions. In this role you will guide the technical staff in timely completion of daily work and may be designated as the main contact for customer on-site visits.
Salary: $29- $31/hr DOE
• Scheduling: Develop and maintain the department’s daily, weekly, and project-based schedules to ensure resources are appropriately allocated and deadlines are met.
• Consumables Tracking: Monitor and manage inventory of consumables; ensure timely ordering and availability of necessary supplies.
• SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost): Lead the department’s SQDC activities and reporting, ensuring alignment with company standards and goals.
• Testing Oversight: Coordinate testing activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
• Calibration Schedule Management: Maintain and oversee the calibration schedule, ensuring all equipment is compliant and operational.
• Cross-Department Communication: Serve as the liaison to other departments, communicating capabilities, needs, and schedules to support organizational goals.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate directly with customers to provide data, answer inquiries, and coordinate witnessing schedules.
• 5S Project Leadership: Drive and report on 5S projects to maintain workplace organization and efficiency.
• Time Card Management: Review, correct, and approve employee time cards to ensure accurate payroll and compliance with timekeeping policies.
• Proven leadership experience in a technical, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong planning, coordination, and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of SQDC and 5S principles preferred.
• Familiarity with calibration and testing standards and documentation practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling/tracking tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interactions.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
