Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Entry Level Quoting Specialist. The Quoting Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for aerospace special processes. The estimator analyzes engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to determine process routings, labor times, and material costs, ensuring bids are competitive, accurate, and compliant with aerospace standards.

 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00/yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Review RFQs, engineering drawings, and specifications to identify required special processes in accordance with customer requirements, industry standards (e.g., NADCAP), and company capabilities.
  • Break down manufacturing and processing requirements into discrete operations, defining labor, material, tooling, and overhead cost elements.
  • Develop accurate labor-hour estimates based on time studies, historical data, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production teams to validate technical feasibility and process flow.
  • Identify potential risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with aerospace customer specifications, industry standards, and applicable certifications.
  • Prepare and present cost breakdowns, quotations, and supporting documentation to internal stakeholders and customers as needed.
  • Monitor industry trends, process innovations, and regulatory changes that may affect cost structures or competitiveness.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, or related field preferred; however equivalent aerospace experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years' experience in aerospace manufacturing, preferably in special processes (precision cleaning, coatings, NDT, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of aerospace specifications and NADCAP requirements.
  • Experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, and process specifications.
