Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facility Maintenance Apprentice to support the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our buildings, systems, and grounds. Under the supervision of experienced maintenance staff, the apprentice will gain hands-on experience in multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general facility operations.

 

Salary: $20- $24/hr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks including painting, lighting, plumbing, and minor repairs.
  • Help inspect and troubleshoot building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Perform basic groundskeeping and custodial duties as needed.
  • Learn and follow safety protocols and procedures related to facility maintenance.
  • Support preventive maintenance schedules and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Use tools and equipment under supervision to carry out assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Report any hazards, malfunctions, or needed repairs to supervisors.

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
  • Interest in skilled trades or facility operations.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety practices.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Punctual, dependable, and detail oriented.
