Element Materials Technology, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, is seeking an experienced HR Manager (m/w/d) to join our team based in Mülheim, Germany. This is a pivotal role with a strong focus on organisational transformation, cultural integration, and strategic HR leadership.


Your Impact
You will play a central role in supporting our German operations through ongoing restructuring and change management efforts, while also ensuring operational excellence and legal compliance. Your leadership will help shape our workplace culture, drive HR innovation, and contribute to long-term business sustainability.

Responsibilities

Restructuring & Change Leadership

  • Lead and support reorganisations, including site closures, in alignment with business objectives
  • Plan and execute change initiatives grounded in German Labour Law and sound HR strategy
  • Manage transparent communication across all levels – from employees to unions, legal counsel, and senior leadership
  • Demonstrate strong conflict resolution and on-the-ground decision-making aligned with overall company goals
  • Facilitate cultural integration across diverse regional contexts in Germany
  • Engage employees through regular feedback loops and change support mechanisms.
  • Drive training and development programs, including apprenticeship schemes under German frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and long-term HR sustainability.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align HR strategy with business goals.

Operational HR Excellence

  • Ensure smooth HR operations including payroll, benefits administration, and employee onboarding
  • Maintain a positive employee relations climate, managing grievances and issues with empathy and fairness
  • Leverage experience with HRIS systems such as D365HR, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Stay current with German labour laws, regulations, and HR best practices

Leadership & Strategic Influence

  • Lead by example with service leadership principles
  • Communicate effectively at all levels – from frontline employees to senior executives
  • Support data-driven decision-making using HR analytics to guide strategy (as D365HR integration evolves)
  • Tackle HR challenges proactively with adaptability and a problem-solving mindset

Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in HR management roles within Germany, ideally with exposure to restructuring and reorganisations
  • Strong understanding of German employment law, HR operations, and employee engagement strategies
  • Hands-on experience in HR systems
  • Contributions to long-term HR planning and strategy
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations and align diverse stakeholder interests
  • A service-oriented leadership style that builds trust, fosters collaboration, and drives accountability
  • Experience in developing and executing tactical HR initiatives that support business transformation
  • A passion for HR innovation and fresh ideas that drive continuous improvement
