Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Business Development Director. This individual is to lead the commercial sales function across Elements Laboratory and Site Testing, Inspection and Compliance businesses within the Environmental Europe Division.

 

Reporting to the EMEAA Sales Director and working closely with the Divisional Director and General Managers, the Business Development Director will mentor and further build the team to drive best practice and a culture of commercial excellence. The role is to support and drive accelerated growth through a number of initiatives. In addition, there is a requirement to implement the systems and processes required to support the ongoing development and professionalization of the commercial team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a go to market strategy for a specific end market that includes the prioritization of target industries, regions and audiences
  • Lead the sales organization : lead, motivate and unite team members around a common sales strategy, organise and coordinate commercial activities, evaluate employee’s performance and support their development whilst driving high performance
  • Collaborate with the operational leaders, and marketing, to identify and execute new lead generation campaigns for the defined end market
  • Expand business with dormant and existing accounts; prospects and develop new potential accounts
  • Achieve sales goals by driving the penetration, conversion and retention of accounts within the defined end market
  • Drive a proactive positive enterprise sales approach through the commercial organization
  • Engage element technical expertise to support the advancement of opportunities
  • Comply with and drive adoption of Element’s commercial excellence processes, tools and systems

 

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Leadership: Significant experience of leading and motivating sales teams to achieve business goals
  • Strategic Planning: Evidence of creating and executing plans to meet the company's strategic objectives and understanding of market trends
  • Financial Management: Strong knowledge and experience of managing budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Achievement: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Environmental Consulting market and wider Environmental TIC sector including safety and compliance across industrial process operations.
  • Networking: Exceptional Networking ability to build and maintain professional relationships to secure partnerships and business opportunities
  • Communication: Effective and persuasive communication style to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
