Overview

Element has an opportunity for qualified candidates to fulfill available positions for Magnetic Particle Inspectors (NDT) for Trainee, Level I and Level II Inspectors. Level I/Trainee candidates will be considered. Completion of applicable classroom time, and practical hours (OJT) to achieve Level II certification within the first year of employment, is required. Candidates must be available to attend evening classes as they are scheduled for the duration of training. Training on first shift 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and then will move to second 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. or third 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications 
  • Accurately record results and associated data of nondestructive tests and evaluations 
  • Maintain familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Level I technicians. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Actively contribute to company safety culture by observing all company safety policies and procedures 
  • Use caution and proper handling of company property, equipment, tools, and customer product 

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required 
  • Technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency preferred 
  • Written Communication: ability to read and interpret information, write legibly, take accurate measurements from a tape measure, present numerical data effectively, and edit work for correct spelling and grammar 
  • Able to prioritize critical work activities and use time effectively 
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to problem solve and analyze information skillfully 
  • Ability to clearly communicate with team members, supervisors, and all others throughout the organization in a professional manner
