Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Hydraulics/Fluid Power Technician to prepare and assist in conducting and collecting test results, analyzing test results, and preparing test reports for assigned test programs.

 

The systems tested at our Minneapolis location are submitted as re-creations of real world stressors to ensure functionality and robustness of design. Customer products are exposed to extreme environmental conditions, -65 deg F to 2000 deg F, in combination with pressure, flows, mechanical loads, electrical control and/or power signals, or whatever means by which the test unit operates.

Salary: $25-$32/hr

 

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and perform tests ranging from simple burst to aircraft fuel system simulation
  • Collect data manually and through use of data acquisition
  • Report results using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
  • Accurately observe and record test progression and results. Organize and document data for each assigned project
  • Interact with customers during the testing process, periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Fluid Power, electronics, automation, process controls, or robotics (or equivalent experience in a test laboratory)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with data acquisition, pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters, etc.
  • Hydraulics / pneumatics experience
  • Ability to interface with clients
