Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Heat Treat Technician (2nd shift) to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the Associate Heat Treat Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine heat treating assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate heat treat results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

 

Salary: $20-$23/hr - plus $1 2nd shift diff

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare material specimens for heat treat
  • Perform heat treat as directed by customer specifications
  • Operate under the supervision of a more senior Heat Treat Technician and/or a Department Manager
  • Gather and record heat treat data
  • Construct and maintain various loading fixtures and other heat treat equipment

  • Possess the ability to work alone periodically throughout the workday with supervision
  • Understand what must be completed each workday and takes the initiative to complete those tasks properly and timely - does not need Senior/Principal Technician or management to explain what the task is.
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required
  • Able to develop a proven ability to set up and perform a variety of tests according to customer specifications under the supervision and technical input of Senior/Principal

 

NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
