Overview

We  have an opportunity for an EMC Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting electromagnetic compatibility/interference (EMC/EMI) and signal integrity (SI) testing of automotive components. This role involves a high degree of creativity and initiative in developing and supporting EMC/EMI/SI test-related activities.

As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct EMC test and development programs.
  • Design, test, and troubleshoot electronic systems to meet EMC standards.
  • Analyze EMI/EMC issues and implement solutions such as shielding, grounding, and interference minimization.
  • Set up and verify test instrumentation, document test results, and compile final test reports.
  • Communicate with clients during test setup and performance to demonstrate methods and discuss results.
  • Fabricate and verify test samples/assemblies.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot EMC/EMI and signal integrity test configurations.
  • Program, debug, and troubleshoot automated test controller systems.
  • Assist in the automation of EMC test systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of operational procedures for all test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, signal/impulse generators, antennas, and oscilloscopes.
  • Must be able to perform EMC testing on Electronic bussed electrical centers, USB charge and data mondules. 
  • EMC Engineer will be responsible for running tests on ADAS control electronics, Device Wireless charging modules, and ADAS camera systems. 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Associate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience required. Candidates with experience in Wireless Communications or Automotive Radio Frequency are also considered.
  • Proficiency with electronic/electrical test equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1-3 years of related experience in electromagnetic compatibility or radio frequency testing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of radio frequency.
  • Background in analog and digital circuitry.
